Heart & Soul was started in 1994 when siblings, Doug Jenson and Janna Lauer saw the isolation and loneliness their mother suffered upon entering a rehabilitation facility due to a broken hip complicated with dementia. Their mother had been the musical center of their family - and they knew that music was the language that helps to transcend loneliness and that brings us all together.

Heart & Soul delivered eight live musical performances that first year. In 2022 that number grew to 1450 shows. Over our 29 years of service we have delivered access to 700 different performing groups - sharing thousands of individual performers with isolated audiences in over 400 institutions with over 20,000 live performing arts programs. We have served over 400,000 neighbors who have limited access to the arts. Join us as we celebrate 30 years of bringing hope, healing and joy through live music in 2024!
