Piano Donation

November 11, 2025

On October 22, one of Heart & Soul’s well-loved performers, Kevin Scott, donated a large beautiful-sounding Yamaha electric piano to Monument Health Millcreek. The residents and staff were very excited to receive this timeless gift that will bring the ability to hear and play quality piano music in their own home, at Monument Health.

Kevin showed us a sweet range of possibilities, now available for people to explore in the main community gathering area. This was a fantastic gesture towards bringing hope, healing, and joy to those who may otherwise not be able to experience the power of live music.

Here are words fresh from Kevin about the experience:

“I’ve owned this Yamaha keyboard for the past few years, and I’ve loved everything about it - the quality of the weighted keys, the fullness of the tone, and the surprisingly grand sound that comes from its built-in stereo speakers. Most recently, I used it for a gig at the Four Seasons in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, this past January. They had me set up about four feet above the crowd, playing lively ragtime to fit the swanky Western Saloon theme.

I’ll admit, I have a bit of a keyboard problem - I currently own five keyboards and three accordions. My spouse recently reminded me that it might be time to reclaim some space around the house, so naturally, I thought of Heart & Soul, who I’ve been proud to perform with since 1995.

I often request to perform for facilities that rely on Heart & Soul to bring music to residents who rarely have the chance to experience live entertainment, which is at the very core of Heart and Soul's mission.  One care facility I play at regularly serves mostly younger residents with mental disabilities. They’ve come to expect a high-energy show filled with rockin’ tunes and laughter, and honestly, it’s one of the highlights of my week.”

For good measure, I will add my email response to Kevin:

“Dear Kevin,

Wow - your soulful and beautiful response has me almost tearful!!

Thanks again sincerely on the behalf of Heart & Soul. We are blessed to be able to share your thoughtful words.

Sincerely, Trace”
